Why is curiosity important in coaching?
Curiosity is essential in coaching because it promotes open-mindedness, encouraging both coaches and coachees to explore new ideas and perspectives. It drives deep understanding by prompting insightful questions that uncover underlying issues and motivations. Curiosity fosters a culture of continuous learning and development, enhancing engagement and motivation. It also improves problem-solving by exploring various solutions and approaches, and it builds stronger relationships by demonstrating genuine interest in the coachee’s experiences and perspectives. All these factors contribute to more effective and meaningful coaching outcomes.
What is Curious Conversations?
Curious Conversations is an introductory coaching skills course designed for managers and their teams. It introduces the key concepts of coaching; a coaching mindset, understanding and appreciating others’ perspectives, listening and powerful questioning. We explore the concept of peer-to-peer coaching using models, tools and techniques designed to motivate participants to begin to have great conversations rooted in curiosity and development.
